Mikayla Petrilla (she/her) is a NYC-based actor, singer, comedian, host, producer, and content creator working across television, theatre, comedy, and digital media. Equal parts quick wit and earnest enthusiasm, her work is rooted in great storytelling, building community, and creating the kinds of opportunities she wants to see in the industry.

On screen, Mikayla has been featured across five seasons of NBC’s Saturday Night Live, with additional appearances including The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Gossip Girl, and Good Morning America.

Onstage, she recently starred in the title role of FLO Off-Broadway at Theater for the New City and completed a run of Manic! at the Disco on The Second City NYC Mainstage. Her New York credits also include Sleep No More, Lincoln Center, Joe’s Pub at The Public, and the New York Musical Theatre Festival at The Pershing Square Signature Center, alongside extensive regional and international work in musical theatre, comedy, and cabaret.

Favorite musical theatre roles include Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, Miss Shields in A Christmas Story, Lily St. Regis in Annie, and Rapunzel in Into the Woods. She has also originated roles in new musicals and participated in the development of new theatrical work.

Mikayla is the creator and host of Tea Time with Mikayla on the Broadway Podcast Network, where she puts on her proverbial Nancy Drew hat to get candid about how the entertainment industry actually works — where it stands, where it’s going, and how artists can play a part in what comes next. Guests have included performers and industry leaders from Wicked, Schmigadoon!, Heathers, & Juliet, The Prom, The Lost Boys, The TRC Company, DGRW, and beyond.

Behind the scenes, Mikayla is an Associate Producer of Jay Armstrong Johnson’s I Put a Spell on You and has produced fundraising concerts including The Violet Hour, Season of the Witch, and 54 Sings for Planned Parenthood. Her productions have brought together artists including Jasmine Amy Rogers, Teal Wicks, Charissa Hogeland, Taylor Iman Jones, Eleri Ward, Jelani Remy, Sarah Steele, and Allie Trimm, with a focus on using performance to build community and support causes she cares about.

Her work extends offstage to a digital community of 100K+, where she shares an honest, funny look at life as a working artist in New York. She has collaborated with brands including Lush, OSEA, and Piece of Cake, and has been featured by The New Yorker, Playbill, Time Out New York, and Getty Images. Along the way, she’s found herself everywhere from the Wicked: For Good premiere to ringing the Nasdaq closing bell for World Kindness Day.

Whether she’s onstage, on camera, behind a microphone, or putting a show together herself, Mikayla is drawn to work with humor, heart, curiosity, and a little bit of magic. She believes deeply in inclusivity, making room for other artists, and finding more joyful and sustainable ways to build a life in this industry.
